History of the Club
29 Jul 2006

Kettering Town Ladies and Girls F.C were founded in May 1998 in the name of Kettering Amazons Ladies and Girls F.C. It was formed as a result of Rushden and Diamonds disbanding at the end of the 1997-1998 season, leaving players like Debbie Lovell, Deb Thurland, Ginnie James and Clare Wilson without a club. It was these four girls that got together with the help of Jason Thurland to set up a new club.

An advert was put in local papers and all schools were contacted to seek new players. There were about sixty ladies and girls turn up for the first training session. In our first season we entered a team in the league, the reserves played friendlies, and the under 15's played in the Weetabix girls league. In the summer of 2003 Jason approached Kettering Town Men's F.C and they agreed for us to play under their name.

Although we have a couple of the original players still part of the club over the years we have seen a change of management and players as one would expect. Today we have two senior teams consisting of a first team playing in the Eastern Region Premier League and a reserve team playing in the Northants County League. We also have seven youth teams ranging from under 10's to under 16's who all play in the Weetabix Youth League.

Late 2005 our patience was rewarded as we received two Charter Standard Awards.

Season 2006/2007
27 Aug 2007

Kettering Town Ladies & Girls FC continued to develop as a club and in August 2006, a third pitch was established at our home ground at Montagu Community Sports Centre to accomodate all our teams.

The 2006/2007 season proved to be one of the Club's best, in which the Senior Amazons won the County League Title. We also saw the 1st team play local rivals Rushden & Diamonds in the womens FA Cup at Rockingham Road and the Under 13's reached the final of the Ken Burton Cup played at Rushden & Diamonds. The Under 10's also had a good season finishing the year unbeaten.

Season 2007/2008
22 May 2008

Season 07/08 was even more successful than 06/07. Between all the teams we managed 4 league titles and 4 cup finals. The Senior team climbed a step higher in the Women's Football Pyramid after topping the Eastern Region Divison One North.

Season 2008/2009
22 May 2008

The Club secured three League Championship titles, one League Cup Championship title and a County Cup title for the 2008-2009 season. The club continued it's growth with six strong youth teams and two senior teams. Unfortunately the 1st team, following promtion last year, struggled against more experienced teams in the premiership and finished in the bottom two.

Season 2009/2010
21 Jun 2010

For the 2009-2010 season, the club achieved a long-term aim by having teams in all age groups, a total of 7 youth teams plus the two senior teams, a total of 130 players, making the Club the largest girls club in the county. We saw the first of our girls entering senior football having played at every age group. We were also awarded ‘Charter Standard Development Club of the year’ by the Northants FA, being a reward for all of the hard work put in by the volunteers.
We had three League Champions, a County Cup Champion, League Cup Champion, and the First Team promoted into the Premier Division.
