KETTERING TOWN UNDER 11'S WIN FC AZTEC TOURNAMENT

23rd August 2009

The Under 11's had a late entry into the FC Aztecs 7 aside tournament last weekend and started in great style winning all of the knock out games without conceding a goal. The final saw them face last seasons league winners Corby Kingswood but despite beating them 2-0 in the knock out stages, at the final whistle the score remained at 0-0.
Extra time couldn't separate the two teams and although an apparent hand ball on the goal-line by Corby, no penalty was given. 0-0 after extra time and everyone’s heart was in their mouths. The manager, Jane Firman carefully selected the penalty takers and it was Jess, the captain, who won the toss and decided to start the penalty shootout.

Louise took the first and buried the ball in the bottom left corner... GOAL!!!!!!
Corby took their first.......Jess took her position in goal and stood tall and proud.....SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!
Vic took Kettering's second and placed it high into the top right hand corner.....GOAL !!!!!!!

Ocean placed a very clever ball past the Corby keeper for Kettering's third.....GOAL !!!!!
Corby scored....
3-2 Kettering....a save from Jess would win the Tournament for Kettering......
Corby's top striker placed the ball......Jess took her position....watching the player and the ball..........A quick move to the right and SAVE.......
