Saturday 20th October - County Cup

The Under 13's were unfortunately knocked out of the County Cup this morning after conceding two goals in extra time to Kettering Generals. For an hour and ten minutes of normal time, both teams were matching attack after attack, and playing excellent football. At the final whistle both teams were level on both score and performance. Luck was with Generals as their first goal came in the first half of extra time following a game of ping-pong with the ball in Town's goalmouth. With everything to play for, Town moved more players forward in an attempt to equal the score, but a long pass forward by Generals resulted in a second goal.

The final scoreline did not truly reflect today's performance by Kettering Town who played not only with individual skill but also as a team. If I had to choose a girl of the match, it would be Emma, who had a superb game in goals.
