League Champions 2007/2008

The Club was formed with one senior team in 1998 under the name of Kettering Amazons and in the summer of 2003, Kettering Town gave the Club permission to use the name Kettering Town Ladies & Girls FC. Following steady growth, the Club now provides football for players from the age of 9 up to senior level. At its peak, the 2005/2006 season saw the club with three senior teams, a 1st team, reserves and a development team. For the following 2006/2007 season, it was decided to concentrate on only two teams combining the reserves and development teams. This team in turn would then feed the 1st team. The combination of the teams proved to be a success as the reserves, or Amazons as they were called won the league title. Unfortunately, the rules of the Eastern Region Women's league dictated that no club could have both a 1st team and reserves in the same division so the Amazons remained in the County League. Our priorities then changed for 2007/2008 and we concentrated on looking at promotion for the 1st team. The title winning manager of the Amazons was put in charge of the 1st team having a free rein to select players from both teams, as being in different leagues we were able to sign players for both teams. The hard work paid off and the 2007/2008 season saw the 1st team become league champions resulting in promotion to the Eastern Region Premier Division. As our current home pitch did not support the requirements for the Premier Division, the Club entered into an agreement with Desborough Town FC to use their pitch for the 2008/2009 season.
