ABOUT THE CLUB

WELCOME TO THE 2009-2010 SEASON
Kettering Town Ladies & Girls Football Club is a Charter Standard Development Club and was formed in 1998. We have junior teams for players between the ages of 9 and 16 playing in the Mid-Shires Girls League, plus two ladies teams, one playing in the Eastern Region Womens League and the other in the Northants County League.

In August 2006, a third pitch was developed at Montagu Community Sports Centre, now Kettering Buccleuch Academy Sports Centre, to accomodate all of our youth teams. The Under 10's and 11's play on a dedicated 7-a-side mini soccer pitch, the Under 13's on a junior 11-a-side pitch and the Under 14's, 15's and 16's on the main pitch. The 1st Team play their home matches at Desborough Town FC and the Amazons (reserves) at Finedon.

LADIES & GIRLS....... DO YOU WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL?

Kettering Town Ladies & Girls are currently recruiting players for all our teams from Under 10's to Seniors for the new season 2009-2010. If you want to start playing football, or want to return to football, then look no further. Come and join Kettering Town, one of the counties largest and friendliest clubs. If you are interested, then come along to one of our training sessions where you can either join in or simply watch. Contact us through our website.

DO YOU WANT TO MANAGE or COACH ?

Kettering Town Ladies & Girls Football Club is always looking to expand their management/coaching resource across the club and have opportunities within most age groups. If you think you could turn a team into a winning team or take them all the way to a Cup Final then contact us. If you like a challenge and want to join Kettering Town, then call Shaun Firman on 07519 956667, or contact us through our website www.ketteringtownladiesgirlsfc.co.uk

WOMEN'S & GIRLS FOOTBALL

Women's and girls' football continues to grow with more players competing in affiliated competition than any other team sport.

There has been an increase in the number of players, clubs, leagues and competitions since 1993; the number of players has increased from 10,400 to over 150,000 today.

Sport England's Active People survey in 2008 highlighted that 260,000 women and 1.1 million girls play some form of football in England. There are 26 million females playing across the world, of which 4.1 million are playing affiliated football, this is a 54% growth since the year 2000 (FIFA Big Count 2006).
